Day 5 to 7 - Paris
Our second day in Paris and we had a very memorable day. After months and months of waiting, we finally get to see the Eiffel Tower today.....hooray!!!
On the way, we went across these bridges and they had padlocks all over them. It is supposed to be a romantic thing....yuck! But it looked pretty cool.
We walked through some really cool parks and along the Champs Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe. It was really cool and the roundabout that goes around it is really dangerous. There was one accident while we were there and lots of horns beeping. We are so glad that we don't have to drive on that roundabout!
We stopped off at a café after and the lady at the counter did not speak any English. This was the first time that we had to try to speak French.....it was hard! Luckily we got what we ordered.
Next stop, the Eiffel Tower.
What can we say - the Eiffel Tower was AMAZING!!!! We went all the way to the top and took a zillion photos. At the moment you can vote on what colour you want the Eiffel tower to be because they are going to change the colour. Can you believe that PINK is winning the race! We think it should stay the same colour. The Eiffel Tower lights up at night and at 9.00 it twinkles for 5 minutes. We are going to come back tomorrow night to see it.
We then went on a cruise along the River Seine on a batobus and went down to Notre Dame. It was a big church but the line was sooooo long that we decided not to go in. We think everyone was all "churched out" by this stage.
The next day we walked to St Germaine and had some lunch. We fed the pigeons and the jumped on our hands. In the afternoon, we walked over to the Louvre and fed the pigeons there. There was a maze there and we did it. It was so easy and lamo.
We went to a restaurant for dinner and we could see the Eiffel Tower from where we were sitting. It was lit up in an orangy goldy colour. It looked spectacular. We headed over at 9.00 to watch it twinkle.....it looked twinkle-ishous.
On our last day in Paris we walked through the St Germain area again and to the Luxembourg Gardens. The gardens were awesome and we fed more birds. The little birds jumped on our hands.
We found this awesome Pattisserie on the way home and had the best Crème Brulee ever! We have had so much yummy food in Paris, especially the chocolate croissants that we have had for breakfast every day.
We love Paris so much and we are very sad to say goodbye, but tomorrow we head to EuroDisney - home of Mickey Mouse!
With love from Paris - Maddy and Bella x
