Day 12 - Bellagio Italy

Beautiful Bellagio........bellisimo!!!!

Today we caught 4 more trains to Milan to pick up our BIG van to drive through Italy.  Before we headed off we had to pay to use the toilets in Italy.  Lucky we weren't busting because we had to get some Euro first.  Can you believe that you have to pay to use a toilet!

Let us describe our van, it is big.....OMG!  I don't know how we are going to fit it down those skinny Italian streets.  We think our parents are a bit worried about that too.

Bellagio is our first stop and it is absolutely beautiful.  We have a lovely apartment overlooking Lake Como.  We are only staying here for 1 night, but we wish we were staying longer.  It is really sunny and warm here.  We had the best gelato.....it was delicious!

Bellagio is well known for these stairs like in the photo above, they are everywhere.

We went out for dinner and got to practice our Italian......Bon Journo, Grazi and see got a good workout tonight!

Venice is our next stop and we can't wait.

Arrivederci from Bellagio, love Bella, Maddy and Sam xxx

Day 10 to 11 - Switzerland

Switzerland - Day 10 to 11

We caught a train from Paris to Switzerland.....or should we say 4 trains.  With all of our luggage it was a bit of a challenge, but we made it!

We are staying in a small Swiss Village called Lauterbrunnen. When we arrived at our hotel we found this really cool elevator.  To get in you had to open the door and then it shot off.....it was sooooo quick.  But we could only fit 3 people in at a time.

This village is surrounded by waterfalls.  Apparently there are 72 in the area.  We walked up to the biggest waterfall, Staubbach falls.  You can actually walk behind the waterfall which was really cool.   You can hear the sound of cow bells everywhere.

The next day we went for a trip up to the Stilthorn peak.  To get there we caught a cable car and a lovely little train and walked part of the way too. We were so high up, parts of the cable car ride were a bit scary, but the trip was very green and scenic.  When we got to the top it was really amazing.  Everywhere you looked there were snow-capped mountain peaks.  It was just how we imagined Switzerland to be.

When we got back we went for another long walk to the Trummelback Falls. We saw lots of waterfalls and cows on the way. We also saw these crazy people base jumping off a mountain.  They were crazy!!

When we got to the falls we could actually walk into the mountain to see the waterfalls. There were a series of waterfalls inside the mountain and some of them were gushing like a jet.  It was a bit scary because we didn't want to fall into them.  We were so glad that we walked all of the way to the waterfall because it was unique and we have never seen anything like it before.

On the way home, we were walking along this little dirt road and all of a sudden about 10 pigs came running out of a farmhouse towards us.  It was so funny.

We loved Switzerland so much.   Here are a few photos to show you how beautiful Switzerland is.  Maddy and Bella x

Day 8 and 9 - Eurodisney

Day 8 and 9 Eurodisney

We had an amazing time at Eurodisney.  First of all we saw the parade where all of the Disney characters walked down main street.  Then we went on a few rides and looked around.  It was so cool!!  We stayed for the laser light show late that night.  We thought it was super special.

On the second day we got our Mickey ears and went on some more rides.  We saw another parade and walked around the park.  We all thought the car ride was the best ride.

The last ride that we went on was the "it's a small world" ride.  We were on a boat floating past all of these dolls that were dressed and dancing, symbolising the country they were from.  It was a good way to end the day.

Day 5 to 7 - Paris

Day 5 to 7 - Paris

Our second day in Paris and we had a very memorable day. After months and months of waiting, we finally get to see the Eiffel Tower today.....hooray!!!

On the way, we went across these bridges and they had padlocks all over them.  It is supposed to be a romantic thing....yuck! But it looked pretty cool.

We walked through some really cool parks and along the Champs Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe.  It was really cool and the roundabout that goes around it is really dangerous.  There was one accident while we were there and lots of horns beeping. We are so glad that we don't have to drive on that roundabout!

We stopped off at a café after and the lady at the counter did not speak any English.  This was the first time that we had to try to speak French.....it was hard!  Luckily we got what we ordered.

Next stop, the Eiffel Tower.

What can we say - the Eiffel Tower was AMAZING!!!!  We went all the way to the top and took a zillion photos.  At the moment you can vote on what colour you want the Eiffel tower to be because they are going to change the colour.  Can you believe that PINK is winning the race!  We think it should stay the same colour.  The Eiffel Tower lights up at night and at 9.00 it twinkles for 5 minutes.  We are going to come back tomorrow night to see it.

We then went on a cruise along the River Seine on a batobus and went down to Notre Dame.  It was a big church but the line was sooooo long that we decided not to go in.  We think everyone was all "churched out" by this stage.

The next day we walked to St Germaine and had some lunch.  We fed the pigeons and the jumped on our hands.  In the afternoon, we walked over to the Louvre and fed the pigeons there. There was a maze there and we did it.  It was so easy and lamo.

We went to a restaurant for dinner and we could see the Eiffel Tower from where we were sitting.  It was lit up in an orangy goldy colour.  It looked spectacular.  We headed over at 9.00 to watch it twinkle.....it looked twinkle-ishous.

On our last day in Paris we walked through the St Germain area again and to the Luxembourg Gardens.  The gardens were awesome and we fed more birds.  The little birds jumped on our hands.

We found this awesome Pattisserie on the way home and had the best Crème Brulee ever!  We have had so much yummy food in Paris, especially the  chocolate croissants that we have had for breakfast every day.

We love Paris so much and we are very sad to say goodbye, but tomorrow we head to EuroDisney - home of Mickey Mouse!

With love from Paris - Maddy and Bella x

Day 4 - Last day of London

Day 4 London/Paris

Today is our last day in London.  We are heading on the Eurostar at midday to head to Paris.

Before we left we had a last walk around London and said goodbye to Big Ben and the London Eye.

We packed up and headed in an old London cab to the Eurostar.

The Eurostar was fun and was very fast.  When we arrived in Paris....OMG!  We dragged our heavy suitcases up 5 flights of stairs, through narrow walkways and through lots of crowds.  It was exhausting.  But when we arrived at our apartment, we couldn't believe it, we were right across the road from the Louvre!!!

We were going to head out to do some sightseeing, but it was raining.  We decided to go over to the Louvre to take some photos.  It was really cool. We finally get to see the Louvre and the pyramid up close.

Sorry for the wait.....more updates are coming soon.  We have been verrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy  busy!

Day 3 London

Day 3 of London

Today we had a better sleep and woke up ready for our day.  We caught the metro to Tower Hill to see The Tower of London.

The Beefeater told us a bit of history about the tower, especially about the torture and beheadings that took place there a long time ago.  It was really interesting and disgusting at the same time.

We walked through a few different towers and saw the Crown Jewels of some of the present and past Kings and Queens.  The Beefeater told us that the jewels were owned by the Commonwealth.  Because Australia is part of the Commonwealth, that means that we own them......OMG, we're rich!!!!

After the tour we got an ice cream and later that afternoon we went on a train to Warner Brothers to do a studio tour of the making of Harry Potter.

We got to see all of the sets including the Great Hall and Diagon Ally.

It was really amazing to see all of the sets, props and costumes and we even got to ride a broomstick like Harry Potter did.  This was an awesome afternoon!

Day 2 of London

Day 2 of London

Today we woke up at 2.30am.  Everyone is jetlagged and delirious.

We went to have a look at the big London eye . It is amazing and it looks beautiful at night.

 .
On the way, we met up with some fancy fellows wearing top hats and long coats.  We had a photo with them, it was very funny!

After that we went to see Westminster Abbey where Kate and Prince William were married. It was quite lovely.  It had all of these amazing paintings on the ceilings, the walls and even on the ground. We did a tour of the Abbey and it was very interesting (but a bit boring). Bella enjoyed it a bit more than me.  It is amazing to think that we walked down the aisle that Kate walked down!

There were so many interesting English things to see along the way, like these lovely old telephone boxes.

Then, straight after that we went to St Pauls Cathedral. It is enormous and that was in fact where Princess Diana and Prince Charles got married. It has an enormous dome and has over 500 stairs. We climbed all of them and were very exhausted.  Our legs were shaking so much, but it was totally worth it because the views were amazing.

We met up with our good old Pal Joey in London.  How amazing that we are all in London together.
Then we hopped back on our river cruise and headed down to the Tower Bridge.  It looked awesome!  We are going to come back tomorrow and spend more time here.

Cheerio from London, more updates to come!!
